Hello everyone!! Summer has been very warm this year so far and I hope that you are managing to keep cool! August is already 10 days old and I am busy organising and preparing for the Fall/Winter season. During July I was able to do some travelling...first to visit our son and his family in Sault St Marie, then a wonderful trip to Antigua for a week and finally a visit to my sister in the Upper Ottawa Valley. Now that I am back I have Summer hours at the shoppe and am open Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 11 am to 5 pm. In September I will back to full time hours which is Tuesday to Saturday 11 am to 5 pm.
WIPS!! I have several works in progress and I am trying to complete a couple of bigger projects interspersed with smaller ones. One of my favourite yarns is the O-Wool Local and I am currently working on the Houghton Cardigan by Marie Greene on Ravelry. She has some wonderful patterns in her Olive Knits Ravelry Store.
What do you like to do while you are working? I enjoy listening to Audio books and my most recent purchase on Audible will keep me going for a long time but I am thoroughly enjoying Anna Karenina read by Maggie Gyllenhaal. I also enjoy a couple of podcasts and watching TV. Woolful is very informative and interesting and I enjoy my friend Antonella's podcast called Diary of a Yarnaholic.
Upcoming events to start planning for are: Kitchener-Waterloo Knitters Fair on September 10 and Woodstock Fleece Festival on October 15....as well as connecting with your local guild and supporting your local artisans!
Well....it has been a longer post than usual so will end by wishing you a wonderful continuation of August and an invitation to visit any time!
