A New year is a fresh start and a time of starting new things and making plans...and I have quite a few things that are on my list to share with you!
My days start a little earlier than they did last year and that is because I get to take my granddaughters to school and daycare to help my son and daughter in law out. I absolutely love doing it and one of the nice things about getting up earlier is seeing the fresh new day as it is starting:)
New yarns are always fun and I just unpacked some lace and fingering weight yarn from Silver Cloud Alpacas. I will be a vendor at the upcoming Toronto Knitters Guild meeting on January 20 and will have lots of lovely yarns for your consideration! The next big and exciting event will be The Knitters Frolic in April but more on that later....some people are counting the number of sleeps until then:)
New projects are fun to plan....deciding on the pattern, the colour and what yarn to use can sometimes be a quick decision but can also take a long time. Will you use stash or will you buy something new? Will you substitute the yarn and will you swatch? (You know how important it is to swatch especially for a garment so make it fun and enjoy the process!) Two of my my knitting friends and I are doing a KAL and have chose to knit Fisher Lassie by Bonne Marie Burns of Chic Knits. I am still deciding on yarn and colour....
New technology is hard to keep up with but I have learned how to use an ipad, what a podcast is:) and my latest adventure is on Instagram....what an amazing world we live in! You can find me on Instagram as lady_olivia57.
I am trying to make time for more spinning on both of my spinning wheels and on a spindle. Recently I bought spindles from River John Knitting Needle Company and they do not have a hook so I will have to practise and see which is my favourite.
Well that is my rambling on new things and works in progress. I hope that you are enjoying your works in progress and experiencing the satisfaction of learning new things and meeting new people!
